Amazing Sticky Christmas 2014

It's time again that we wind down to take a breather, taking stock of our footsteps as we look forward to the exciting new year.

When I first became Chief S.P.Y., I didn't know where I was going. I knew however, I wanted to build something meaningfully exciting and to do that I knew I needed an exciting brand. Without really knowing how or what will happen, I went ahead, trusting myself (my instinct and my passion) and people around me.

Looking back, the last couple of years has been really exciting for me—authoring a book, travelling extensively, meeting new friends, building a brand in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, and infecting many along the way. The dots somehow connected and the journey is indeed rewarding.

In his inspiring speech delivered in June 2005 at Stanford University, the late Steve Jobs quoted "...you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever..."

It's good to have a plan, but sometimes we just need to trust ourselves, get started and make adjustment along the way. It is not possible to get to the end right away because there is no end to an exciting journey. It gets better and better going forward but you can only connect the dots looking backwards.

External factors might try to bring you back to the old school, but deep inside, you always knew that the addiction is good for you and that it will make you better and more confident.
